God Loves You!
God, the most powerful being known to man and beast, loves you. G-o-d, God. The Bible tells us that God has always existed from the very beginning, as seen in the very first line of the very first book of the Bible.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. — Genesis 1:1 (NLT)
Did you catch that, though? The Bible has no explanation of who God is, just that He has been there since the beginning and created everything. Further study shows the same throughout the Bible.
Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, You are God. — Psalm 90:2 (NLT)
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. —Revelation 22:13 (NLT)
According to gotquestions.org, the Bible reveals “the nature, character, and work of God.” The Bible additionally tells us that while God is one, He is also tripartite: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, the Bible states that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, meaning He is powerful (Psalm 147:4–5), all-knowing (1 John 3:20), and everywhere at once (Psalm 139:7–12). He is almighty. He is the beginning and the end. He is the creator of all things, and He loves you!
How great You are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like You. We have never even heard of another God like You! —2 Samuel 7:22
God Loves You!
But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
— Romans 5:8
God loved you “while you were still a sinner.” He loved you as you were, even before you received salvation. He loved you then, He loves you now, and He’ll love you always. God knows every foolish thing you will ever do and say, yet He still patiently loves you. I am not pointing a finger here; I still have my bouts with foolishness, too. And He still loves me regardless of my imperfections. The same way that He still loves you through yours.
God is love, and because He is, He loves differently than you or I do. Personally, I am grateful that God loves differently than I do. Sometimes, I find it difficult to love others, especially if they hurt me. Do you have the same limitations? We love in a natural way. God does not have conditional limitations about anything, including love. He loves in a supernatural way that I will never understand. Thankfully, God does not want me to try and figure it out. He just wants me to accept His love and everything that comes with it. He wants the same things for you. Accept it, receive it, enjoy it.
Plain and simple, God loved us first because He is love. We love Him because He first loved us.
— 1 John 4:19 (NKJV)
But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. — 1 John 4:8 (NLT)
God Loves You!
Let’s start with the obvious: If you feel you are not worthy of or deserve God’s love, you are correct. You do not. Neither do I. Nor does anyone else. There. All better?
Thankfully, being loved by God is not up to you. It is up to God, and He chooses to love you regardless of how you interpret your worthiness or lack thereof. In fact, while God loves you as you are, where you are, He also loves you enough not to let you stay there. He loves you so much that He gives you a do-over in life. I pray that you stop seeing yourself from the “old you” perspective and start seeing yourself as God sees you.
Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. — Ephesians 1:4–5 (NLT)
Meditate on this: God loves you. God loves you. God loves you.
